Legal Observer Report: Policing of Protest Against Pauline Hanson

On 12 July 2026, Action Ready fielded a team of 7 Legal Observers to monitor policing of the “Protest Against Pauline Hanson in Brisbane” (the counter-protest). 

Legal Observers were alarmed by the lack of poor planning by police, which led to the counter-protestors being kettled by a combination of police lines and banked up public traffic, as well as the blatantly biased approach to any potential agitators. This gave the distinct impression that police were treating the counter-protestors as less deserving of protection.
