We pay our respect and gratitude to elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect and recognition to all First Nations people, in particular neighbouring Pasifika peoples. We recognise the 60,000+ years of resilience and survival, culture, lore and language. We particularly acknowledge the Jagera and Turrbal people on whose land we live and learn.
White Australia: It’s time to pay the rent
We acknowledge that the laws governing so-called ‘Australia’ are the product of an illegal occupation with a history steeped in the attempted genocide of First Nations people. We do not wish to validate those laws, but to equip you with some of the knowledge needed to stay safe and informed when taking action, and find new and creative ways to use and subvert the law. We acknowledge that operating within the existing legal system maintains and replicates social divisions even within progressive movements.
